3. Volunteering

Volunteering is the hobby that can not only improve your life, but also the lives of others. There is always at least a demand for volunteers and functions can be found across the board. For example, you could become a board member for a foundation, tutor, chat with the elderly in homes, help with plastic clean up, or blog for certain projects that help the community.

The easiest way to find volunteering positions is to search “volunteering” and then your city. And there are so many volunteer opportunities out there, so there is definitely something for you.

4. Gardening

Gardening sounds like something only grandparents do. Gardening is darn therapeutic. Watching your own plants grow from a seed to fruit or flowers is extremely fulfilling. It is like raising a baby, but in a much shorter space of time. And unlike a child, then you will eat it or cut it and put it in a vase.

The great thing about gardening, especially in terms of fruits or veggies, is that they taste so great – nothing like the bland tomatoes that you get at the market, for example. In addition, gardening teaches you how to grow something and how nature works. Not everything is the same and though you can buy almost everything all year round, actual veggies don’t work like that and you have to sow them at certain times of the year as well as pay attention to when it is perfect time to harvest, etc.

5. Anything with crafts

Get creative and make something, whether it is a scarf, painting, or an upcycled closet. There are a lot of ways to let your creative side loose, and you don’t need to make things that you will never use, either. Why not paint your cabinet in funky colors, make your own one-of-a-kind jewellery, or start knitting or simply jazz up your house with a fluid art piece?

Getting crafty is a great way to focus your attention on something else than the stress of daily life. Moreover, the end results are usually great and give you a sense of pride.

You will not only get a great workout in, but also get to experience the peace of the nature around you. Moreover, it is a great fun with your friends.

Reading a book is a great way to decrease stress and offers your mind a chance to explore. With the rise of sites like YouTube and streaming services like Netflix, it seems that we are constantly consuming information. You can get to imagine the characters for yourself with books , even if you and one of your friends have read the same book, you might have imagined the characters differently, whether it be what they look like or how they speak.

So, open a book and don’t let the imagination part of your brain shrink. On the additional side for work, perhaps letting your imagination run free for a little bit each day or week, could help you to come up with an innovative solution to a problem? Doesn’t hurt to try, right?
